GAG: Peanut Brittle Gag: Clown approaches target, offering a piece of candy from a can (of the sort of can many people will recognize as the kind that a spring snake pops out of). Instead, it is filled with candy, "The Bush administration has lots of people jumpy, but not all clowns are liars ." The clown hands them a piece of candy and moves on.
PROPS: 1) Purchase a trick Peanut Brittle Can - remove the spring snake from the can 2) Purchase some wrapped candy. It could be hard candy, chocolate kisses, mini Reeses, or the like. 3) Fill the can with the Candy
TIPS: When approaching someone with the can, shake the can gently in front of them, point the top of the can towards them, and ask in a slightly menacing voice, as you reach over to pull off the lid :'Would you like some candy'. We are looking for a response of slight fear, because so many people are familiar with the springing out snakes gag.
Pull off the lid, and give them a piece of candy, and the message line: "The Bush administration has a lot of people jumpy, but not all clowns are liars."
To be done as a multi-person gag, the first clown(s) come through as Bush supporters, doing the joke with the snakes popping out of the can.
The second gentle clown comes through and does the follow up, giving out candy. |
